The Kaņepji Oak (Jērcēni Parish, Valmiera Municipality) has been named the Tree of the Year in Latvia, followed by the Alciems Spruce (Krimulda Manor Park, Cēsis Municipality) in second place, and the Kuņņi Oak (an oak at a crossroads in Raiskums Parish, Cēsis Municipality) in third.
