The EIB Group joins other EU institutions in condemning Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. Within days of the invasion, the EIB, in cooperation with the European Commission, prepared an emergency solidarity package for Ukraine. The package included 668 million euros for immediate assistance to Ukrainian authorities. The process was expedited, and the mentioned sum was fully paid out within a month. The bank is working on further support measures, including an additional 1.3 billion euros for infrastructure projects. In addition to the 668 million euros in aid, the EIB donated 2.5 million euros in humanitarian assistance to help those affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The bank is also preparing multi-billion euro support for the European Union's eastern and southern neighbours, the EU enlargement region, and Central Asia to help manage the refugee crisis and the social and economic consequences of the war.
