Despite the fact that Europe is currently the focus of attention, the crisis is gradually becoming global. Addressing energy problems will take several years to successfully transition to environmentally clean energy sources.
It is suggested that one of the reasons for the rapid price increase could be the fact that three times less gas than usual was pumped into the Yamal-Europe pipeline on the morning of 1 October. This, in turn, is linked to unpurchased gas volumes stipulated in "day-ahead" contracts for gas supply via the Yamal-Europe pipeline.
