Politically, this was treated as the businesses' own problem. In autumn, both entrepreneurs and their organisations, as well as Dienas Bizness, drew attention to the fact that electricity prices here are rising faster than, for instance, in neighbouring Estonia, which implies both an inevitable increase in local product prices and a decline in the competitiveness of our region's businesses. Officials, so to speak, turned a deaf ear to this as well. Now, in December, households have also noticed the increase in costs for electricity consumption in their November bills, and finally, the moment has arrived when politicians have also begun to actively imitate activity, demonstrating that they are supposedly committed to doing something about it.
