Entering the era of 'stinky' books

(...) I recently heard a psychologist use an interesting term – clip thinking or clip perception. It refers to the fact that modern people perceive information about the world as if it were in the form of short video clips or even images. It is not without reason that most content on social media is organised in exactly this way.

Educational content is also changing in line with demand and the trends of the times. Increasingly, reading literature is being replaced by getting acquainted with summaries. The moral of a story, the system of characters, and the philosophical layer are being reduced to an examination of the plot. The author of these lines was very surprised to see that even in secondary school classes, young people are assigned to draw a so-called 'story snail' – a spiral shape in which small pictures or emojis are sequenced, mostly just retelling the plot. Although the plot is most often like a tripod for a haystack – you cannot do without it, yet it is not the most important thing.
