Digital Forest Days for pupils will take place remotely via MS Teams from 26 April to 28 May as interactive study excursions, featuring live broadcasts from the LVM Kalsnava Arboretum, the cone kiln and the tree nursery. These events are most suitable for years 1–6, with Cūkmens, the lead campaigner for clean national forests, participating as a guide. The theme of the events is forest regeneration: tree breeding, seed extraction, the creation of seed banks, and professional sowing and planting. Each event will last for one school lesson, or 40 minutes, and is scheduled for every weekday from 14.00 to 14.40. For full participation, pupils will need a computer as well as a phone, which will serve as a voting device. Teachers are invited to register their class for a specific Digital Forest Day by 22 April by sending an email to: arboretums@lvm.lv or by calling the LVM Kalsnava Arboretum on: 25736933.
