The idea of founding a society for forestry students was proposed by third-year students of the Forestry Department of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Latvia during their summer internship in Lielauce. A meeting was convened on 29 June 1923 (...) This date is considered the founding day of “Šalkone”.
