The track is a gift from Andris Ramoliņš, owner of SIA Stiga RM, to the Tukums municipal government to promote the well-being of children and young people. To find out what the young people and residents of the municipality considered necessary, a public survey was conducted, where everyone had the opportunity to submit their suggestions on how the donation could be used to improve the quality of life for children and youth. The idea of building an asphalt concrete pump track, which cost 50,000 euros, received the most support among the residents.
The newly built asphalt concrete pump track (pump track) in Tukums was opened on 6 September.
The pump track can be used by any fan of active recreation with their own non-motorised vehicles, such as various sizes of bicycles, balance bikes and scooters.
A pump track is a multifunctional cycling track designed so that riders can move along it by creating momentum with up-and-down body movements rather than by pedalling.
