Common sense is getting stuck in the formulas of 'green' policies: in our country, peat is not used as a fossil fuel.

In the shadow of today's loud and aggressive political events, struggles in the corridors of Brussels over peat extraction and use in the European Union have been left behind. Entrepreneurs say they are worried that politicians and officials might sign some unfortunate document, while politicians offer reassurances not to worry.

The fight for climate neutrality and against global warming, which is driven by increased carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions into the air from burning fossil energy resources, sometimes takes on a grotesque form. At one point, there was news in the media that it had been calculated how much CO₂ is produced by cattle, and that reducing the number of these animals and reducing the consumption of meat would be a way to fight global warming. Now it is peat's turn – 'Green' Deal advocates are operating with special formulas and strategy development, while others are trying to understand how much of it is meant seriously and what counter-arguments to find.
