The population of Far Eastern leopards (Panthera pardus orientalis) is increasing in Russia. According to 2017 data, there were only 86 adult individuals living in Russia at that time. For their protection, the Land of the Leopard National Park was established in the Primorsky Krai region, where the leopard population is monitored and protected from poachers. The suitable conditions have had a rapid impact on the increase in numbers: the big cats are breeding actively and expanding their inhabited territories.
