The main goal of the “Latvija 2070” conference organised by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK) is to send a signal to both politicians and society at large that the country needs a long-term development strategy that would help focus on a specific direction. The current situation could be figuratively compared to a ship in the ocean, which, without a set course, drifts with the waves and often gets lost.

Since one of Latvia's biggest problems is bureaucracy and/or a culture of prohibition, the motto of the “Latvija 2070” conference will be “Stop the bans!”.
Various state institutions should think less about how to prohibit and more about seeking and finding solutions on how to allow. Then the economy would develop much faster, and there would also be less room for corruption, because doing things legally would be much faster and more efficient.
