Following a joint meeting between Metsä Group management, Finnish trade union leaders, and the Finnish Minister of Employment regarding the construction of the planned bioproduct mill in Kemi, Metsä Group announced that it will require companies working on the new mill's construction site to comply with Finnish legislation and collective agreements throughout the entire subcontractor chain. Furthermore, the company will immediately address any identified shortcomings. These measures will proactively combat the shadow economy.
