Conserving and enhancing biodiversity is essential, as it is under threat both in Europe and worldwide. Financing sustainable activities has become a priority, particularly in the European Union.
The aim of the EU taxonomy is to establish a single way of classifying sustainable economic activities for investors. For economic activities and investments to be considered environmentally sustainable, they must meet certain minimum requirements and screening criteria, which will be set out in delegated acts of the European Commission. However, specific criteria on biodiversity in forest-related activities have not yet been fully defined.
The “ThinkForest Ask a Scientist” event will address these questions. Participants will gain insights from the scientists who contributed to the EFI publication “From Science to Policy” (From Science to Policy) “Sustainable finance and biodiversity criteria in the forest”.
In this online seminar you will be able to engage with leading scientists working on forest biodiversity and sustainable finance research, put your questions directly to the scientists, and gain a deeper understanding of the latest research and policy developments.
