The European Commission has developed a proposal for a ban on lead ammunition, covering any shooting with lead-containing shot within 100 metres of a wetland. Within the meaning of the Ramsar Convention, wetlands are floodplains, marshes, peat bogs or bodies of water – natural or artificial, permanent or intermittent, containing stagnant or flowing water, fresh, brackish or salt, including marine areas, the depth of which at low tide does not exceed 6 metres.
The chairman of the board of LATMA, Haralds Barviks, provides an opinion on this. A hunter from Germany, Magnus Pelz, provides a demonstration.
