To mark the 30th anniversary of the VEREMS plant, an exhibition entitled “From Latvian Roots to the World's Summits” has been open to visitors at the Latgale Embassy “GORS” in Rēzekne since 24 April 2026.
It offers an informative look at more than 30 years of development at the VEREMS plant and its importance to the region – from the company's founding in 1996 to the major expansion of the plant in April 2026. The exhibition also sheds light on the international operations of AS “Latvijas Finieris”, offering an insight into the sustainable wood cycle and the birch plywood manufacturing ecosystem, as well as vividly demonstrating how renewable biomaterials are replacing fossil resources in today's bioeconomy.
“This exhibition is a story about people, knowledge and long-term development. The growth of VEREMS over thirty years shows that it is possible to develop internationally competitive manufacturing in Latgale while maintaining a close connection with the local community and with nature. We are proud of what has been achieved and grateful to every employee and partner who has been part of this journey. The exhibition is a tribute to our employees, to Latvia's tradition of working with wood, and to the Latvian and Latgalian work ethic and perseverance,” emphasises Zinaīda Lovnika, Chair of the Board of VEREMS RSEZ SIA.
The exhibition will be on show at the Latgale Embassy “GORS” until 24 May. Admission is free.
