The state owns 1.65 million hectares of land in Estonia (38.4%, Maa Finants OÜ data). The land properties owned by the state are divided among various state entities; for example, the largest landowner is the State Forest Management Centre (RMK), followed by the Land Board (Land Board, Maa-amet), the State Centre for Defence Investments (RKIK), Kaitseliit, Eesti Energia and the state real estate manager Riigi Kinnisvara AS.
