After surviving the pandemic, we will have to survive its end

The most positive impact on production in November came from the timber industry, which grew at an excellent rate of 14.6%. This is the fastest increase since January 2012. This year, we have already become accustomed to a very rapid rise in the production of electrical equipment (+20.4%), which manufactures energy efficiency solutions, equipment for rail transport, street lighting, medical instrument components, and other popular goods. There is also a wonderful increase in printing, driven by book exports. The industry's leading company is increasing capacity, and during the lockdown, people have more time for reading. Manufacturers of car parts also remained in the positive territory year-on-year (6.2%), while for equipment manufacturers, it was a very successful month indeed (+11.4%).

There are sectors whose results are worse. A deep decline in repair and equipment installation work (-40.7%) may reflect both weak investment and a crisis in the transport sector. There is also a deep decline in beverage exports (-13.8%), possibly in connection with the limited opportunities to celebrate various holidays with family or in restaurants. It seems that remote learning and working are not helping paper product manufacturers, as their volume has decreased by 8.5% year-on-year.
