Raw materials – exterior cladding boards and beams – are sourced from old houses, barns and farm buildings scheduled for demolition.

In the Smiltene region and neighbouring districts, news of this has spread by word of mouth. The company finds more distant buildings by placing advertisements for the purchase of old timber. The company has a specialist team that travels all over Latvia, focusing specifically on the dismantling of old wooden buildings.

Not all timber is suitable. For the boards to achieve the right look, they need to have been exposed to sun and rain for at least 50 years. The team consists of professionals who know their stuff. Upon seeing a building, they quickly grasp whether it contains anything that can be used. Sometimes they offer to install new cladding in exchange for the old boards, or simply to demolish the old wooden structures for free.
