Architectural monument vandalised – Remte hunting tower

In the Saldus region, within the Remte park managed by a/s “Latvijas valsts meži”, an architectural monument – the baron's hunting tower – has been vandalised. Doors and windows at this popular tourist spot have been smashed. The police have been notified of the offence and have launched an investigation to identify the culprits and hold them accountable.

Recognising the cultural and historical value of the Remte tower and the interest from tourists, LVM carried out restoration work on the tower in 2014, preserving its historical appearance.

The restored Remte hunting tower and gazebo received recognition in the “Restoration” category at the national competition “Latvia's Best Building of the Year 2014”. The purpose of this competition, organised by the Latvian Builders Association, is to promote the highest quality and safest buildings in Latvia, thereby fostering professional growth and work quality within the industry.
