University dismisses professor who found that polar bear populations are thriving

There are not many people who have resisted the claim that climate change is threatening polar bears. Zoologist Susan Crockford is one of the few, and it may cost her her job!

After 15 years of work, Dr Crockford's application to continue working at the University of Victoria has been rejected, despite her high qualifications as a lecturer and her widely cited research on polar bears.

Dr Crockford accuses Canadian university officials of bowing to "external pressure", as the professor's research shows the stability (one could even say increase) of the polar bear population at a time when there is talk of decreasing Arctic ice volumes and the contrary claims of those alarmed by climate change are being promoted.
