A large herd of bison has been spotted near the village of Vandžiogala, in the region around Kėdainiai, Lithuania. There are major roads nearby with heavy traffic, so drivers should exercise caution.

Last December, this herd crossed the Via Baltica, slowly making its way towards Jonava. According to bison breeder Rytas Papsis (Rytas Papsis), large herds split into smaller ones in the spring. It is possible that this group will also split into smaller ones.

Last year, some of the bison from the Kėdainiai herd were relocated to a new site in the Dzūkija National Park.
