To find new, effective methods for combating and controlling invasive species, the Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre (LLKC), in cooperation with the Nature Conservation Agency and Daugavpils University, will launch its second project competition on 31 January 2023 for small grants awarded to residents, entrepreneurs, and collaborative groups, including local authorities, who wish to control invasive species on their own or managed properties using methods that are innovative, eco-friendly, and cost-effective for Latvia.
To explain the competition process and help applicants prepare their project proposals, an informative seminar will be held on 17 January 2023, where interested parties will be introduced to the conditions of the small grants programme, the application procedure, and the regulations. Experts at the seminar will outline priority invasive species and known control methods, while those who implemented projects in the first small grant competition will share their experience in invasive species control.
