In the Vecumnieki parish of Bauska municipality, peat extraction company AS Agaris Latvia (formerly Greenyard Horticulture Latvia, and before that Misas kūdra) reported a turnover of 14.667 million euros last year, which is 13.8% more than the year before; at the same time, the company's profit fell by 30.6% to 1.822 million euros, according to information published by Firmas.lv.

Last year, Agaris Latvia increased its sales volumes and substrate production volumes in the peat processing workshop, although peat extraction decreased slightly compared to the previous year. The sales market was also expanded, thanks to the production of bagged peat products.

The company's annual management report indicates that Agaris Latvia plans to increase the volumes of processed products in order to ensure turnover growth and maintain profitability.
