A partisan bunker has been discovered in the forest near Renda, the National Resistance Movement Museum reports. For several years, the bunker was home to the 'Kanādas piecīši' forest brothers unit, who were known in the surrounding area for their particular intolerance towards the Chekists. Many historical artefacts were found inside, which have now been added to the museum's collection.
After several unsuccessful searches, the bunker of the 'Kanādas piecīši' partisan group was discovered about a month ago in the forest near Renda. It was found by Juris Grasmanis, a representative of the National Resistance Movement Museum, together with his associates.
