To bring together in one place teaching, informational, research and educational materials on agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre (LLKC) will from 8 May offer a new digital tool – www.llkckratuve.lv

The initial aim in creating the new Repository was to support vocational education in the agricultural sectors in Latvia by giving teachers and students at twelve schools access to these teaching and informational materials. However, what the Repository offers is available to anyone interested in broadening their horizons and knowledge.

Maija Sirvide, project manager for the creation of the LLKC Repository: “A great many valuable teaching materials on agriculture, forestry and fisheries have been produced under both local and international projects, in Latvian as well as English, German, Russian and other languages. In the Repository they will be available free of charge or for a fee, to be read, viewed or listened to digitally, or published and printed. Once registered, users will be able to order, purchase or download materials. It should be remembered that when using materials from the LLKC Repository, a reference to the title of the source and to the author or authors is mandatory.”

The LLKC Repository offers materials in the following categories:

• Crop production (Cereals. Oil crops. Pulses. Grasslands. Fruit. Berries. Vegetables).
• Livestock farming (Animal feeding. Animal welfare. Animal housing. Dairy farming. Beef farming. Sheep farming. Beekeeping. Goat farming. Poultry farming. Rabbit farming. Veterinary medicine).

It should be added that authors of newly published works also have the opportunity to publish their works in the LLKC Repository and sell them, for example as digital materials or as materials issued by a publisher.
