Salaspils Municipality Council has approved the creation of the Zeltiņi bog nature park, according to information on the local authority's website. The council has established a working group that will draft binding regulations and define the boundaries and zoning of the nature park area.

In the future, the Zeltiņi bog nature park area should serve for nature education and public recreation. Given that a portion of the park's territory is designated for industrial use under the 2013 municipal spatial plan, the local authority will begin work on amending the spatial plan to designate this area as a nature and greenery zone.
