In Estonia, researchers are hunting for traces of flying squirrels, with a new member joining the team: a four-year-old Labrador born in England, who is now helping researchers in Ida-Viru County to locate signs of the Siberian flying squirrel (Pteromys volans) – primarily by their droppings. The use of dogs for this purpose has already proven successful in Finland, where the flying squirrel is more widespread.
