The magnificent boulder was first discovered during a walk by Esmeralda Valere, owner of the nearby Ozolsalas, whose property borders the LVM land where the stone is located. Ms Valere reported the find to acquaintances who are keen researchers of cultural history. Following initial measurements, the boulder reaches 9.22 cubic metres and is considered a candidate for dižakmens (great boulder) status. In Latvia, boulders with a volume of over 10 cubic metres are considered natural monuments of national significance, while those over 7 cubic metres are of local significance.
