Residents of Greece are forced to pay around 6% of their monthly salary for a full tank of petrol – fuel prices, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, have not just risen or increased, but have experienced a sharp spike. It should be noted that the fuel price increase in Greece is the highest among OECD countries, even compared to the USA, where $4 per gallon of fuel is already considered very high.

According to combined data from the OECD and GlobalPetrolPrices.com, Americans pay around 1.2% of their national average monthly salary for 16 gallons of petrol at the pump. Meanwhile, in Canada, the figure is 1.9%, whereas in the North American neighbour, Mexico, a full tank of fuel, or 60 litres (16 gallons), costs 4.8% of the average monthly salary.
