In my opinion, the answer to how Latvian society would react to potential threats is shown much more clearly today not by any historical analogies, but by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. If so many of the country's inhabitants, disregarding all the warnings from doctors, virologists, microbiologists, pharmacists and scientists, and despite not being specialists in the relevant field themselves, 'know from reliable sources' that Covid does not exist at all, or that it is 'just the same flu', or that vaccination is 'microchipping', a conspiracy by 'big pharma' or politicians, etc., it is a stark signal that there are very serious problems with the mental state of our society.
