Swiss national Guillermo Fernandez's (Guillermo Fernandez) daughter celebrated her 13th birthday on 9 August. It was on that very day—9 August—that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) published its "code red" report on climate. As G. Fernandez explains, that was the moment he realised his daughter's future promised to be hellish.

"I was suddenly very alarmed by the fact that the figures and calculations I had always viewed quite cool-headedly would, over time, create a quite hopeless situation for my daughter. What will happen when she turns 23?" G. Fernandez told Euronews Green. "As a loving father, I must take action!"
