The ozone layer

Do you remember when we were worried about the thickness of the ozone layer? There was a time when many people stopped using hairspray, until manufacturers caught on and stopped adding CFCs to their products. It "worked"! In 2005, almost 20 years after the signing of the Montreal Protocol (on substances that deplete the ozone layer), evidence was obtained confirming a slowdown in the depletion of the ozone layer. In 2018, the UN reported that the ozone layer was slowly recovering. Research and calculations show that the so-called "ozone holes" in the northern hemisphere could fully heal by 2030, in the south by 2050, and near the Earth's poles by 2060.
