Change of course for US tankers has lowered gas prices in Europe

As reported by the agency Bloomberg, European consumers have turned to the US for assistance in resolving the energy crisis caused by gas shortages and high prices. The US has diverted a large group of tankers carrying liquefied natural gas cargoes to Europe. Reports indicate that 20 tankers carrying 3.3 million m3 of gas are already crossing the Atlantic towards Europe, with a further 10 tankers (1.6 million m3) awaiting instructions. Approximately 1/3 of the cargoes are travelling from a terminal in the state of Louisiana. It has been reported that liquefied natural gas terminals in the US are operating at full capacity (and even beyond). As is well known, the usual US trading partner for liquefied natural gas is the Asian region, which this year—due to the crisis—has been replaced/succeeded by Europe.
